Restoration of our trees sheboygan (Roots)

Restoration of Our Trees - Sheboygan (ROOTS) is a collaborative effort between Sheboygan Rotary Club and Lakeshore Natural Resource Partnership to address the serious threat of the Emerald Ash Borer to Sheboygan County's rich forestry resources.

ROOTS is seeking support from municipalities, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and individuals. With your help, we can lessen EAB's impact and protect our beautiful woodlands and tree-lined streets for generations to come.

Emerald Ash Borer

The highly aggressive emerald ash borer (EAB) is an exotic beetle now found in 35 states across the US. Since 2002 when it was discovered, it has killed hundreds of millions of ash trees across North America.

To learn more about the Emerald Ash Borer, visit http://www.emeraldashborer.info/ or download one of these resources. (The Cost of Infested Trees, NABB Decision Guide.)

The photo shows an EAB larvae burrowed into a tree and the “S” like channels it creates which damage a tree’s water supply, ultimately, killing the tree completely.
